Students take advantage of the snowfall Dec. 4 to meet on the Quad. The university cancelled afternoon classes and closed campus buildings at 3 p.m. The Reynolda campus was closed today, Dec. 5.


Second to None

It has been all about perseverance for the field hockey team. Making their third consecutive trip to the Final Four, the team decided this year was their year, and in a display of pure dominance, the Deacs were unstoppable, uncontainable and, most of all, untouchable, on their way to winning the 21-year-old program's first national championship.

Wilson honored by state

University Provost Emeritus Edwin Wilson received the North Carolina Award Nov. 19 at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh. Wilson, along with six others, received the prestigious award, which was instituted in 1961 by the General Assembly of the State Legislature to recognize notable accomplishments by North Carolina citizens in the fields of scholarship, research, the fine arts and public leadership.

Banquet recognizes Greeks

This year's Greek recognition banquet was given a new twist. For the first time ever, the Order of Omega, also known as the Greek Honor Society, presented a Greek man and woman of the year award at a ceremony held in Reynolda's Magnolia Room, Dec. 3.
