policy under review

on Information Technology heard proposals for changes to the Policy on
Responsible and Ethical Use of Computing Resources Oct.21, according to
Bob Swofford, a professor of chemistry and chairman of CIT. The CIT reconvenes
in two weeks, at which point Swofford said they would consider presenting
the proposed additions to the administration.

worries campus

university student was threatened with a weapon and robbed of near Collins
Residence Hall around 10:50 p.m. Oct. 17, just minutes after he withdrew
money from the Wachovia ATM on University Plaza.

are now one step closer to smelling the coffee and pushing more
late-night caffeine into their system. A
town hall meeting sponsored by the Division of Student Life and
Student Government and moderated by Alan Cox, a consultant to the
university from the Planning Edge, which sought student opinion
on the new coffeehouse slated to open this spring, was held Oct.
23 in Carswell Hall.

suburban sniper has struck fear in the hearts of Washington, D.C.,
area residents and while so far no attacks have come close to
the university, students here are not immune to the terror caused
by 10 deaths in the last three weeks.
