Listening to all the hype surrounding Halle Berry's performance in Monster's Ball, I had a feeling she was going to win the Oscar for Best Actress. Considering the incredible competition in this category, I couldn't help but doubt that she was the best out of this amazing group of women. So, wanting to decide for myself, I saw Monster's Ball late in the afternoon on March 24. A few hours later when they announced Berry's name for best actress, not only was I convinced that she deserved it, but I also could not believe the movie had not been nominated for Best Picture.

The musical taste of today's college student is quite eclectic, so much so in fact that the term "college music," which once referred to old-school R.E.M. way back in the day, can no longer be applied. These days at most colleges, there is no single genre of music that ties everyone together. At any given institution of higher education you have your pop fans, metal fans, rap fans, etc.
