W-S music fest kicks urban blues

Jan. 18 will see the kick-off of the project with a night of blues at the Millennium Center downtown. The festival, which has been dubbed "Kickin’ The Downtown Blues", is headlined by international blues legend Taj Mahal, who is joined by several other national acts as well as seven local bands.

The powers that be behind the university’s annual Secrest Artist Series recently announced the cancellation of the Prague Radio Symphony’s performance, which was scheduled for Jan. 31. Secrest Series planners have already booked a replacement, which comes in the form of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.
