opens season with three wins

swept their opening three games of the season Feb. 9-11. The team took
the first game against James Madison University, and the last two against
Penn State University.

tennis rallies to take down Old Dominion

Illness,
ranked foes send Deacs tumbling

virus infected sophomore Bea Bielik and the womens tennis team
this weekend, as the eighth-ranked Demon Deacons dropped matches against
Notre Dame and Illinois. The Bielik-less Deacons fell 5-0 to Notre Dame
Feb. 11 and 5-2 to Illinois the following day.

Miserable
shooting from the floor was the dominating factor in the Demon Deacons
69-35 loss to North Carolina State in the Joel Feb. 8. The Deacs converted
on only 13 of their 63 shots and no player scored in double digits in
the conference loss against the 21st-ranked team in the country.

attack had been missing-in-action: the scoring punch of senior guard
Robert OKelley and the ability to win on the road. Perhaps its
no coincidence that the emergence of one led to the manifestation of

trades infielder's glove for catcher's gear

senior Jason Aquilantes coaches approached him about moving from
second base to catcher, he didnt know what to say. He had started
59 of 60 games at second the previous year, and had been very successful
there, earning honors for being the ACCs best defensive second
baseman.
Equestrian
team takes top spot at North Carolina

is making waves wherever they travel to compete. On Feb. 3 the huntseat
team traveled to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill to
show against several other rival colleges.
