Demon Deacons take sting out of Yellow Jackets

Illness, ranked foes send Deacs tumbling

A virus infected sophomore Bea Bielik and the women’s tennis team this weekend, as the eighth-ranked Demon Deacons dropped matches against Notre Dame and Illinois. The Bielik-less Deacons fell 5-0 to Notre Dame Feb. 11 and 5-2 to Illinois the following day.

Tigers, Wolfpack drop Demon Deacons

Miserable shooting from the floor was the dominating factor in the Demon Deacons’ 69-35 loss to North Carolina State in the Joel Feb. 8. The Deacs converted on only 13 of their 63 shots and no player scored in double digits in the conference loss against the 21st-ranked team in the country.

Deacs get first road win of new millenium

Aquilante trades infielder's glove for catcher's gear

When senior Jason Aquilante’s coaches approached him about moving from second base to catcher, he didn’t know what to say. He had started 59 of 60 games at second the previous year, and had been very successful there, earning honors for being the ACC’s best defensive second baseman.

Equestrian team takes top spot at North Carolina
