Banner apology - Cory Winig
We would like to correct any rumors that have
unfortunately surfaced from the hanging of a banner in front of our house last
week. The brothers of our fraternity did not participate in hanging the banner
from our house, nor do they condone potentially offensive public discourse.
When we discovered the potentially offensive verbiage of the banner, it was
immediately taken down by the brotherhood.
The banner itself was a response by the women who were being honored by the
fraternity for their friendship to the brotherhood. Along with the women, we
regret any offense taken by individuals in the community. The initial hanging
of the banner was an act taken by women whom we know not only meant no harm,
but wished to celebrate, through jest, their association with the brothers of
Sigma Phi Epsilon.
