No evidence - R. Shelly Null

Zach Everson's April 10 article, "Rally Held on Chapel's Steps" was very interesting. While I agree with many of the comments by those holding the rally, I find one comment particularly bizarre. By what definition is the presence of a campus officer evidence of bigotry?

Such a comment destroys the credibility of those holding the rally. Did the officer make racist comments? Did he try to quell discussion? As regrettable as it may be, rallys do sometimes turn into violence. For any officer to witness the rally and ignore it would be a dereliction in his duty. If a student had been injured, you can be sure any lawsuit would include an allegation that the university failed to provide adequate security. VOICE, please continue with your efforts. They are needed. However, try to think before you speak!
